Getting Ready for that Breakthrough
“Hope is not a dream but a way of making dreams become reality.
This is it. I can feel it in my bones. This IS my breakthrough race.
There, I said it. Like Babe Ruth calling his shot at bat, I am throwing down the gauntlet. This is MY DAY!
See, it's my day because Im going to celebrate a lot of different things. A few days ago, I got word that an old friend of mine died of a pulmonary embolism. She was a Dean at a local school and was active in her church. She had so much going for her but life..and death are strange things. In the blink of an eye, she was gone. This person celebrated life every day she was here
I plan to celebrate the fact that I CAN race triathlon. 11 years ago I was resorting to sitting down every few feet when I walked. Today, 70.3 miles under my own power. THAT'S SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE!!
So no matter what they day brings: Wind, Rain, Jellyfish (last year I was stung at the race and had to withdraw), Current, Punctures, Cramping Muscles Etc....it's a day to celebrate!! With a few blessings from above...Ill finish this one!!

Life is a celebration. Celebrate to the fullest!!!
Last year at Ironman, I knew it was going to be a good day when deep in my heart I knew and repeated to myself all day long that this was the day that God made for me. It got me through the ups and downs of the day and helped me keep my faith. I just thanked God over and over that day for that gift I was given. I do believe God made this race your race and indeed, it will be a very, very good day!
Life is amazing and you know how to live it! After my chain popped and the race mechanic finally fixed it and got me moving again (32 minutes after I got to the mile 18 bottle exchange), I told myself "I believe in God and I believe in my self. I can do all things with God's help." I repeated it when I needed to along the bike and the run.
Sometimes you just have to remind yourself and repeat it as much as you need to in order to get the job done!!
I KNOW you can rock this race!
Great sentiment. Way to listen to that deep down voice. Go for the glory girl! Enjoy every bit of it.
It sounds like you are ready for a breakthrough. I enjoyed reading the couple of blogs of yours and you have quite the story going on here! I was supposed to do IMFL this year but backed out. You've got a lot going for you so I hope you have a spectacular day out there! Only one more month or so of training!
Have a great tri this weekend!
